Important Change in Internationalization Rules

The Corona-related tightening of the funding regulations of our TUM-GS internationalization funding has been lifted with immediate effect.

From now on, all internationalization measures can be funded again, regardless of the RKI-classification of the target country as a high-risk area. This also applies retroactively to measures that were carried out in the past weeks but were not funded by TUM-GS due to the tightened regulations. Please be aware:

- Following the recommendations of the RKI, the TUM-GS office continues to advise against non-mandatory travel in high-risk areas. If a measure is planned/implemented in presence form, a meaningful letter of justification from the supervisor on the necessity of the measure for the progress of the doctoral project must still be enclosed with the application.

- The only exception to the relaxation of the rules is for presence measures that are to be carried out in virus variant areas.

- Please note: Corona-related cancellation costs, rebooking costs or additional costs due to quarantine or similar will still not be covered. Therefore, all doctoral candidates are still advised to wait with the travel booking until it is foreseeable that they can actually carry out the trip as planned.
