Supervision


Supervisors, mentor(s) and doctoral candidate conclude a Supervision Agreement to help with structuring and planning of the dissertation project. Creating a project plan and choosing the subject-related and interdisciplinary qualifications are important elements of the supervision agreement.
TUM Graduate School supervisors have to be professors of TUM School of Medicine and Health (for exceptions please see TUM Promotionsordnung). They bear the primary responsibility for the subject-related supervision.
Advisors and mentors have to be different persons and have to come from different clinics/institutes. Please check specific rules of the program you are applying before making final decision.

Mentors give further academic support and interdisciplinary supervision. They also have to have the title of professor, apl. Prof., PD (in case of TUM, also TUM Junior Fellow title); please note the exception for the Dr.med.(dent.) program.
